county, virginia over the weekend belong to missing uva sophomore hannah graham. investigators say they were found in an area frequent go ahead by the suspect in the case, jesse matthew. we are joined with more on the investigation. good afternoon hank. >> reporter: hi. we can tell you that those remains that were found saturday have been moved to the medical examiner's lab in richmond. they'll do an extensive round of tests, for the only trying to prove it is hannah graham but also build a case against jesse matthew. they were described ascella toll remains over the weekend by the man who found them. the police will not confirm that, but if that is not the case, which appears likely, they'll probably have to use dental records and dna to make a positive identification to see if it is hannah graham. there is at least one other woman missing in this area since july, so they will be very, very careful to make sure

they get this right. the remains were found within five miles of where the remains of morgan harrington were found four years ago, and of course the case has been linked to the hannah graham disappearance. jesse matthew, who you mentioned, the man charged in this case, charged now only with abduction. so in addition to getting an id, the medical examiner will also be looking for evidence that will tie him more to this case for possible murder charges that could come if indeed it is hannah graham. the police have been very, very tight lipid. they say, basically, we are not going to say anything until we know for sure who it is. reporting live wusa 9. it is a big day for the first group of people who had contact with the first ebola patient diagnosed in the u.s. the monitoring period is over for about 43 people who were in contact with thomas eric duncan. a 44th person will be cleared

later today. the cdc is announcing even more stringent protocol for his healthcare workers who treat ebola patients. >> reporter: the confinement is over for dozens who had contact with thomas eric duncan. the 21-day monitoring period has passed with none of them, including dunk can't's fiance louise troe and her family. judge clay jenkins says troe's family is concerned about how the community will treat them, especially the children who go back to school tomorrow. >> they do not have ebola. they are people who have been through an incredible ordeal and people who need our compassion, our respect and our love. >> reporter: about 120 people continue to be monitored in texas, including people who had contact with the two nurses who considered ebola while caring

for duncan. nina pham and amber vinson are in stable condition in hospitals in maryland and atlanta. the cdc is announcing stricter provisions for people treating ebola. including full body suits. the latest the world health organization has declared nigeria officially free of the ebola virus. nigeria reported 20 cases, including eight deaths but there hasn't been a new case in 42 days, which is way past the incubation period. dc police are following up on a lead after a shooting in the northwest leaving one man dead and two others wounded. police a one of the men was shot in the back, and he died later at the hospital. they have released a description of the suspect's car. they say it is a gray monte carlo with maryland tags 2 ay

2516. if you have any information about the shooting, you are asked to call police. in prince george's county two people were hurt in a shooting at riverdale park. it happened in the 5500 block of 54th avenue around 10:00 last night. police say two men were shot and both are expected to survive. authorities have not released any information about possible suspects or a motive. prince george's county police and u.s. park police are both investigating. dc police are looking for two different attackers. each is a suspect in the assault of two different women just hours apart in northwest dc. the first attack happened around a quarter of 4:00 yesterday morning near dupont circle. the second happened at about 6:00 a.m. on prospect place not too far from georgetown park. again very different suspect descriptions in these cases. in the dupont circle attack the suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks wearing khaki pants. the woman was sexually

assaulted inside a silver sedan with three men inside. cops are looking for a hispanic male, 5'7" in his 20, clean shaven wearing a black leather jacket. call dc police if you have any information on any of these cases. you could be eligible for a $1000 reward. early voting begins today in the district. voters can begin casting their ballots at the dc board of elections office downtown. eight other early voting locations will open up around the city on saturday. this year's contests include races for mayor and attorney general. in the mayoral election the democrat is favored ahead of independents david schwartz and carol ta tannia. the use has air dropped weapons, and medical supplies to kurdish forces in the syrian town of kobani. the kurds are defending the

in the mountains they have more clouds, they are only in the low to mid-40s. a good looking lunch hour here in dc, 63. officially cloudy, but come on, these are real thin clouds. a last sun coming through. mostly sunny, one of the weirdnesss of how we report the weather. the top clouds, they are so thin they don't matter much. south winds at 15. what we are watching there are several things on the map. this guy none canada and the great lakes. it is going to come to the east coast and drop off the mid- atlantic. that is going to throw the moisture back. especially wednesday and thursday. wednesday looks to be a raw day. today the thin clouds are coming across us. a lost sun is coming through them. i expect them to thicken up later this afternoon into the evening hours giving us a slight chance of a shower here.
